Hate of the Week

Remaining on theme, I once posted a tweet that said, “Anybody who has ever loved a dog has never loved fireworks,” and a billion people told me to go take a hike. Not my favorite experience, and I only mention it here because it is hard to think of anything else not to like about the very jolly holiday.

It’s been two years since the fireworks near my weekend house in the country scared away Suzy the Swan. If this reference leaves you scratching your head, yes, I had a swan, and yes, I named her after me. I also made a podcast about her, which remains a listener favorite, thank you very much. 🧡🦢🧡 So if you are traveling this weekend – and who is not? – I invite you to consider Suzy’s story a way to pass the time. 

Then again, you may be flying high yourself on this glorious summer respite. Either way, have a (literal) blast.
